1. Homework/ Class work:
   1. Homework will be posted on the board and should be written down in assignment pads.
   2. Homework is graded with a check minus, or a check.
   3. More extensive assignments may be counted as a test or quiz grade instead or a homework grade.
2. Tests:
   1. Tests will be announced in advance in order to allow time for you to review your materials
3. Quizzes:
   1. Most quizzes will be announced but some will not.  Unannounced quizzes will be based on the last homework assignment or class work from the previous class period.
4. Participation:
   1. All students are expected to participate in class.
   2. When considering participation for grades these three factors will be taken into account: How often you volunteer on your sown, how constructive your response is, and finally how well do you interact with everyone in the classroom.
5. Projects:
   1. Project guidelines and rubric will be handed out with each project.

Class Materials:

These are the materials you will need to be successful in Social Studies this year:

1. Three ring binder with lined paper.
2. Blue or black pen and a pencil on test days.
